Create Day 2024
We were delighted to be taking part in 'The Royal Opera House Create Day 24''.
Run in collaboration with UNICEF's Rights Respecting Schools Award, the project celebrated the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We started with 6 hours of specially designed lessons in school, which included dance, singing and design.On the 2nd July we joined schools across England and came together to learn and create a mass cross-nation performance. The day was led by dancers and singers from the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera. The children worked together as a team and we were super proud of them all. They were AMAZING.
Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre Trip - June 2024
Year 4 had such a wonderful day at Sutton Courtenay Educational Centre.
It was a very busy day, they did a field sketch of a stream and then got to measure the width, depth, temperature and flow speed. They did a river sweep and got to identify all the different invertebrates that they caught. We saw freshwater shrimp, caddis fly larva, may nymphs, leeches, beetle larva and even saw a tiny baby fish.
The children then got to do a meadow sweep (where we saw crickets and grasshoppers) they also did an insect and animal identification, whilst being Nature Detectives!
All the children behaved brilliantly and the sun was shining for us, what a fabulous day! There were lots of sleepyheads on the return journey!
