Year 2 - Mechanisms – Wheels and axles – Making a royal carriage for the King’s terrier
In term 1, Year 2 evaluated existing vehicles and products with wheels and axles, then designed, made and evaluated their own royal carriage for the King's terrier.
Year 2 - Food – Preparing fruit and vegetables - Designing, making and evaluating an Indian fruit salad for themselves.
The Year 2s evaluated existing fruit salad products then designed, made and evaluated their own Indian salad for themselves - they practised cutting skills with playdoh first to ensure they were safe when it came to cutting the fruit.
Year 2 - Textiles – Templates and joining techniques - Design, make, evaluate hand puppet of someone who has made a difference to our world.
The children were set a challenge! Percy the Park Keeper needed a new wheelbarrow, a watering can, a bag and a vehicle to get around the park. The children took this on and with Percy in mind, they designed and created these items perfectly for him.
