So far we have learnt about animal offspring, the human life cycle and last week we looked at some animal life cycles. In school this week we will be learning all about what animals need to survive.
Use the PowerPoint to discuss what all animals need to stay alive. Explain to your child that some needs are classed as 'basic needs'. These are air, water and food. Other things are also still important. Stop at Mrs. Wilsons letter and watch the video. What is the fourth thing that all animals need to survive?
Now read the letter. Activity: Research how to look after Mrs. Wilson's pets. Think of the following questions: What do they need to survive? Where do they live? What do they eat? You can research all the pets she has or just choose one.
