Primary School
The small group of children who were selected to go to the Pizzi Lab opening day at Milbrook Primary School were very luck to be able to participate in a variety of exciting activities. They worked as individuals, in pairs as well as small groups with several other children from different schools.
We began the day by becoming engineers. We were given the task to build pulley bridges based on a design. This was a tricky task, however we persevered and did not give up.
Next up was our adventure in the forest school. We were entomologists - people who study insects!
Then we were lucky to have some real scientists from Infineum come and work with us. We looked at how washing up liquid reacts in water and how it moved the oregano away. We made small flat boats from foam and experimented with what happened when we put washing up liquid on the end of our boats.... watch them race!
Finally, we entered the explorer dome. This was AMAZING. It was all about water and how water can be a solid, liquid or gas. We learnt about the water cycle - evaporation, condensation and precipitation. We looked at the planets and discovered which ones had water.
