Reading at Home
We want to support and encourage children to develop a love of reading in school and at home.
Why read? Reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination in young children. It can help build self-esteem, vocabulary, communication and social skills.
Reading books
Please send book bags in every Friday with reading books and reading record. We can only change reading books if reading records have been signed to say your child has read their books.
Each week your child will have two Read Write Inc books that are closely linked to their reading ability. One book they have read previously, to keep building on fluency and word recognition, and one they have not previously had.
They will also choose a book form our library to bring home.
