Geography: To finish our learning about earthquakes, we designed and made a structure using spaghetti and marshmallows. Our structures had to withstand an earthquake (jelly). Before this, we learnt about how buildings are made to withstand structures. We looked at bracing and larger bases. This was a lot of fun!
Science: We had the opportunity to use thermometers. We measured how long it took ice to melt in cold water and warm water. We recorded the temperature every minute.
Science: We continued our learning about states of matter. This time we looked at gas. Our experiment was to find out if gas has mass.
Science: We have been learning about states of matter. We carried out different liquid investigations. Some of us wanted to find out which liquids poured the fastest, some of us worked together to see which liquids travelled the furthest and some of us investigated which liquid was the fastest.
DT: The next step in our DT learning journey was to make various types of levers and linkages.
DT: Levers and Linkages - We enjoyed exploring and making our on 'scissor grabbers'.
Geography: Earthquakes - We have been learning about tectonic plates, looking at maps and investigated what happens during an earthquake.
