Folly View
Primary School
Welcome to Folly View. Take a look to see the latest news.
What a brilliant day at Folly View we had to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The children arrived wearing red, white and blue to music and balloons.
We had such a good day learning about why VE Day is important and lots of other fun activities. In the afternoon we had a whole school picnic. Thank you to all the parents who provided food to share. After the picnic all the children joined together in a circle to listen to Mrs Dullforce play 'The Last Post' and then they all stood respectfully for the silence. The final memory was all the children and staff singing ‘We’ll meet again’. We hope that the children will remember the importance of VE day and will have made their own memories as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations at school.
Following our VE Day celebrations we received the below email from a grateful parent:
Dear Folly View,
I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and staff for all the hard work today.
My daughter came home full of stories about the picnic, the two-minute silence, and the meaning behind it all—including listening to Vera Lynn. What a wonderful and meaningful day you created for them! It’s so important to remember and never forget.
I also loved seeing all the bunting and balloons—it was such a lovely touch.
Thank you once again. In a world full of uncertainty and worry, you made today truly special.
Warm regards,
Angie Sammut
Faringdon United Charity has funded a new sensory room, The Rainbow Room, at Folly View Primary School. The charity focuses on enhancing the well-being and educational experiences of children and families in the Faringdon area. https://faringdonunitedcharity.org.uk/
They said: “We are delighted to have funded The Rainbow Room, which will provide a calm and controlled environment for children to engage with sensory experiences. This space is designed to support emotional regulation, focus, and overall well-being, offering profound benefits for pupils with diverse needs. We hope that The Rainbow Room brings joy and comfort to the children of Folly View Primary School for many years to come”.
Folly View is a new school, in name and structure. Having previously been an infant school, they are now entering into a period of significant growth where they be adding an additional Year group of children for the next few years. To be able to grow into an all through primary school, they have moved to a newly built school in Faringdon.
Head of School, Jo Baird said:
“At Folly View we strongly believe in inclusivity, it does not matter where you come from or who you are, at Folly View we all belong and matter. Every member of the community unites like a rainbow to celebrate our differences which is why we have named it the Rainbow room.
The generous donation from the Faringdon United Charity has enabled us to enhance our strong pastoral offer of the Orchard and the Rainbow room to all the children across the school. Already we have seen the huge impact it has made on our school community and are incredibly grateful”.
CEO of Cambrian Learning Trust Richard Evans said:

The high-quality resources have created a special place to support the children at the school. The facility has been very much appreciated by the school, children and families. I look forward to this provision positively impacting children in the years to come. Thank you to Faringdon United Charity for making this possible.'
Thanks to the generosity of Faringdon United Charity, we have been able to install a sensory room at Folly View Primary. The room is used throughout the week by children from across the school.

There is a strong sense of nurture across the school. A family feel and sense of safety exists. Relationships between staff and children are strong. Pupils collaborate well. There is a relentless drive from leaders for getting the best support for each child. Affirmation is all around – in feedback and additional prompts. Adaptation can be seen is every class which meets the needs of complex learners.

We really appreciated the time and effort you and the children in Year 4 Folly View Primary school put into entering our competition. We know it is difficult to add these things into an already packed curriculum. It was great that you were able to make a day of visiting the Folly and then presenting us with a super selection of stories. We loved the mix of experience and imagination. It was so good to have your support and we hope you enjoyed participating. Faringdon Writers Oct 2023
Wow what another wonderful morning l shared with your pupils. Like I said on Friday, your pupils have blown me away with their impeccable behaviour and their very well thought out questions. I'm so glad their response was so positive as it was a pleasure to present my adventures to them. Al Sylvester MBE Jan 2024
Parent Feedback
All the staff I have encountered at FVP have been professional, caring and knowledgeable. My child loves coming to school, and I have been impressed with her progress. Thank you to all staff for their hard work.
From what I understand, he is thriving this year and that is down to the support the school have put in place for him over the last 18+ months - thank you
The school is warm, comfortable with a nice community feel. Many of the teachers are excellent, and the school feels very child focused.
The teacher assistants that work for Folly View are dedicated to making it a good place for my child to attend and grow.
Overall, I am really happy with the school, and think that the teachers and TAs are doing a brilliant job.
Happy New Year!
