Year 3 - Textiles – 2-D shape to 3-D product - Design, make, evaluate a Christmas decoration

In term 2, Year 3 investigated a range of textile products that have a selection of stitches, joins, fabrics, finishing techniques, fastenings and purposes. They then design, made and evaluate their own Christmas decoration.

Year 3 - Structures – Shell structures - Designing, making and evaluating an egg box

Children investigated a collection of shell structures including packaging. They took a small package apart and evaluated existing products. They used kits to make nets and practised making nets out of card. They also looked at different ways of stiffening structures.
