    Supporting Every Child to Succeed

At Folly View Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We recognise that some pupils may face additional barriers to learning, and we use our Pupil Premium funding to provide targeted support to help every child thrive.

    What is Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.

    This includes children who:

    • Are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM)
    • Have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last 6 years
    • Are Looked After Children (LAC) or previously looked after
    • Are from Service families

    Our Aims

We use Pupil Premium funding to:

    • Close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers
    • Ensure all children make good progress from their starting points
    • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn
    • Provide enriching experiences that broaden opportunities

We carefully plan our spending to meet the needs of our pupils. This may include:

    ✦ Targeted Academic Support

    • Additional phonics, reading, and maths support
    • Pre-teaching and overlearning opportunities

    ✦ Pastoral and Wellbeing Support

    • Access to trained pastoral staff
    • Emotional wellbeing support and interventions
    • Nurture provision where needed

    ✦ Enrichment Opportunities

    • Subsidies for school trips, visits, and residentials
    • Access to clubs and extracurricular activities
    • Music lessons and wider curriculum opportunities

    ✦ Attendance and Engagement

    • Support to improve attendance
    • Family liaison and support where needed
    • Removing barriers to learning and participation

    Measuring Impact

We regularly review how effectively our Pupil Premium funding is used by:

    • Tracking pupil progress and attainment
    • Monitoring attendance and engagement
    • Evaluating interventions and support strategies
    • Reporting to governors and reviewing outcomes annually

Our goal is to ensure that all pupils, regardless of background, achieve well and feel confident in their learning.

    Working in Partnership with Parents

We believe that strong partnerships with families are key to success. We encourage parents and carers to speak to us if they think their child may be eligible for support.

Registering for Free School Meals, even if you do not wish your child to take them, helps the school to access valuable additional funding.
