    Ancient Greek Pots

In art we have been designing and making our Greek pots. This has linked to our learning in both History and English. First, we explored Ancient Greek pots looking at the shapes and geometric designs. We then had a go at designing our own. Next, we created the shape using a balloon and we covered this in modroc. Once this was dry, we were then able to paint them. Finally, using our designs, we drew on the patterns.

    History Artefacts

We have been learning all about Ancient Greece. In the last week, we were able to explore some artefacts such as Greek coins, old lamps and statues. We talked about how these artefacts help us to understand the past.

    Geotechnical Engineers - Furgo

We had an amazing time listening to the scientists tell us all about the work they do and the places they visit. The children were fantastic and asked lots of great questions.

    Science

This term we are carrying out our investigations to enter the science fair. Our investigation is called "Ditch the Dirt". We looked at how much water we use on average in the UK a day. We learnt about some countries not having clean water come straight to a tap in their homes and discovered how they have to travel to collect water from waterholes. This water is not clean! We came up with ideas on how we could help by finding a way to filter the water collected so that it removes some of the dirt.

Here we are exploring different levels of dirty water - we discussed the smell, the look and used a scale to score how dirty it was.
